Well, I do like it, but let me tell you, its not German. And folks seem genuinely sad when I tell them that its not definitely German. For the longest time I couldnt even figure out why it was known as German. 1st I thought it might be that people today use actual German chocolate, but that would be a little high-priced here in Texas. Finally, I looked it up on Wikipedia. The guys name who came up with the kind of chocolate used in German chocolate cake? Sam German. Thus, Germans chocolate is used in German chocolate cake. Voila. Mystery solved
